Nursing faculty members should be aware that they are at the risk of litigation if found negligent of failing to protect students from injury. The purposes of this article were to describe the concepts of negligence and to emphasize the educators’ responsibility to predict risks and to instruct students to maintain safety. To discuss ways by which nursing educators can reduce the risk of injury to students and accusations due to educational negligence. (Tzu Chi Nursing Journal, 2004; 3:1, 14-18.)
