Interstitial cystitis is a chronic, inflammatory, disabling, painful bladder wall syndrome, for which management is often a big challenge, very controversial. Interstitial cystitis (IC) is characterized by a number of symptoms (urinary urgency, frequency, suprapubic pain, diminished bladder capacity) which can affect IC patients in varying combinations, and/or varying degrees of intensity. This text aims to present the interstitial cystitis, including the etiology of interstitial cystitis, reasons for occurrence, influence on interstitial cystitis patients and how to deal with the problem at hand. Accordingly, health care providers would learn how to recognize and avoid potentially interstitial cystitis and to attach importance to this issue. The study is expected to advance the quality of nursing and provide nursing activities to the patient continuously and completely.
