由陰入陽的成聖之途－由《西遊記》的“食色”談起

摘要

本文藉由討論《西遊記》中的食色意象，觀察書中滲透至深的「大母神」觀念，由此分析作者如何處理天與地的矛盾、陰與陽的對立；並由三方面加以討論：一是由《西遊記》中的妖精洞府來說明另一種形態的「吃」，而這種「食」也常與「色」有關。二是在《西遊記》的吃食現象中選擇最為特別的事件－即妖怪爭吃唐僧肉，作為重心，論述唐僧肉的獨特與珍貴之處。第三，由《西遊記》對豬八戒的食量與吃相的重覆刻畫，觀察他令人印象深刻的好食與好色性格，說明豬八戒具有正面大母神之面相，並藉此來形塑一個本性與佛國淨土的規範扞格相違的角色，從而由《西遊記》的「食色」情節，展現出豬八戒的成聖之途與「由陰入陽」有著密切的關係。

The study focuses on the alimentary and erotic images in The Journey to the West, and watches the concepts about The Great Mother and the opposite of heaven and earth. There are three aspects. First, the idea of female body is discussed from the evil spirits' caves. Second, because of the evil spirits scrambling to eat Tripitaka Tang's (唐僧) body, the thoughts of male semen are revealed. Third, for Jhu-ba-jiie's (豬八戒) appetite is described repeatedly, Jhu-ba-jiie has the character of The Great Mother, and the author speaks out his supreme male concepts through Jhu-ba-jiie going to the heaven.
