對佛教華嚴宗「法界觀」的詮釋-以郎尼根認知理論為主

Lonergan's Cognitive Theory as Basis for Interpreting the Thought of Dharma Realm of Hua-Yen School of Buddhism

摘要


本文透過對華嚴法界思想的耙梳及郎尼根認知理論的論述,繼而依據郎氏認知理論的步驟,以教學的方式對華嚴的法界觀進行詮釋。結果發現透過郎尼根所建構的認知過程:授與留心關注的經驗,進行明智的理解、合理的判斷,與屬己本真的辯證,可使得華嚴法界觀的義理達到自我超越與歸依的功效。而且華嚴真空之理透過學習者自我肯定為知者的理性自覺意識,能將其迥絕無寄、非言所及、非解所到的特性表達出來。郎尼根的認知理論確實可用於華嚴法界觀的詮釋,也產生佛教的效用,其結果也符合華嚴的教義。本研究成果證實郎尼根的認知理論是超越宗教的,他這種以知識論作為形上學出發點的啟發,將有助於吾人對各宗教的理解,進而促進宗教交談的品質。

This study aims to illustrate the thought of Dharma Realm of Hua-yen School of Buddhism and Lonergan's cognitive theory, and then to interpret the former by the latter. It includes the following steps: be attentive in experience, be intelligent in understanding, be reasonable in judgment, and be authentic in dialectic. This method makes the concept of Dharma Realm of Hua-yen get the effectiveness of self-transcendence and conversion.The study found Lonergan's cognitive theory can indeed make the thought of Dharma Realm of Hua-yen clearer, and produce the effectiveness of Buddhism, and the results are consistent with the teachings of Hua Yan. The results of this study confirm that Lonergan's cognitive theory can be used to interprete different religious doctrines. He made epistemology the starting point of metaphysics. That will help people to understand the various religions and promote the quality of religious conversation and communication.
