本文主旨在於對傳統宗教社會學的研究方法進行理論上的檢討,進而試圖提出一種契合觀察臺灣當今宗教狀況的研究進路。本文採取的是建構論的理論觀點,將結合美國哲學家皮爾思(Charlrs Peirce)的符號理論及法國社會學家波爾迪厄(Pierre Bourdieu)的社會建構論來發展符號關聯的(Semantic)分析架構。同時將應用此符號關聯之分析架構來說明臺灣社會的宗教建構特徵,並揭櫫臺灣諸多宗教現象背後的符號運作背景。透過本文之觀察與分析,一方面將對臺灣當今的宗教現象提出一些相應的解釋說明,另一方面也試圖藉以勾勒出臺灣宗教逐漸發展出的自主運作結構。
The purpose of this paper aims at examining the traditional religious sociological methodology, and raising a new analytical model that can be suitably applied to the religious circumstances in Taiwan. The approach of my research is based on the social constructivism, wherein the semantic analysis is significantly utilized. I shall employ Charles Peirce's sign theory and Pierre Bourdieu's social constructive theory in my research in order to establish a framework of religious analysis. Based on such framework, I will reveal the significance of the related socio-semiotic operating process in the Taiwanese religion. The main goal of the employment of such semantic analysis is to explain the current Taiwanese religious phenomena on one hand, and to draw attention to the autonomic religious field that has been gradually developing in Taiwan on the other hand.
