New economy, leading by information technology, digital economy, and knowledge economy, has not only significantly changed the interaction among nations, but also enriched the content of power. Under the new economic network, the puzzles, such as how business can survive, how state can help business to stimulate competitive advantages, and how state can obtain maximized interest within economic interdependent circumstance are worthwhile to do further research. The objectives of this paper have twofold. One is to attempt to understand the impact of new economy on the nature of international relations, particularly on the concepts of power and interdependence; And the other is to understand the development and interaction of information technology across the Taiwan straits. This paper argues that if both sides across the straits can cooperate in economic terms and terminate political confrontation, then the sector of information technology between two sides.
