摘要

《上博簡》〈申公臣靈王〉篇，學者多以為其中人物為楚靈王與申公穿封戌。本篇擬從地理的角度觀察，探討「方城」之定義，其位置所在，其範圍廣狹，明「方城內外」之所指，因而確認本篇之申公必非穿封戌，實另有他人。

Many a scholar considers the characters in the article entitled ＂Duke Shen Subjected to King Ling＂ on the bamboo texts in the Museum of Shanghai to be Duke Shen, Chuan Feng Hsu, and King Ling of Ch'u. This essay studies the so called ＂square castle,＂ its location, its square measure, and points out the meaning of ＂inside and outside the square castle＂ from a geographical perspective. It is this author's hope that my essay will clarify that Duke Shen is not Chuan-feng Hsu, but someone else.
