Many a scholar considers the characters in the article entitled "Duke Shen Subjected to King Ling" on the bamboo texts in the Museum of Shanghai to be Duke Shen, Chuan Feng Hsu, and King Ling of Ch'u. This essay studies the so called "square castle," its location, its square measure, and points out the meaning of "inside and outside the square castle" from a geographical perspective. It is this author's hope that my essay will clarify that Duke Shen is not Chuan-feng Hsu, but someone else.
