我們稍微描述民進黨在此次總統大選的盤算，先了解民進黨權力核心的調整，特別是陳水扁指定副總統呂秀蓮擔任民進黨中常委的原委，緊接著，觀察民進黨新潮流成立二十年的派第政治，其次，藉著民進黨立委沈富雄與扣應節目主持人汪笨湖之間的齟齬，嘗試了解民進黨在成長過程中所面對的困境，再來，對於立法院的修憲案進行評估，最後，對於未來政黨板塊的可能變動簡單作分析。

After briefly describing the estimation of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) during the 2004 presidential election, we embark on comprehending President Chen Shui-bian’s efforts at adjusting the party organization of the DPP, with a special focus on his appointment of Vice President Annette Lu as a member of the ruling party’s Central Committee. Secondly, we observe factional politics of the DPP in light of its dominant faction-the Movement, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Thirdly, we probe how the DPP is struggling to manage its party development by looking into the openly acrimonious disputes between the famous DPP legislator Shen Fu-hsiung and the popular TV call-in moderator Wang Beng-hu. We then examine the recent constitutional reforms undertaken by the Legislative Yuan before rounding up the essay with thoughts on several possible developments of the party system.
