台灣地區大學校院歐、日語主修生語言能力評量」研究計畫日語評量報告

Assessing Language Abilities of Japanese and European Language Majors at Colleges in Taiwan-Report on Language Ability of Japanese Majors

摘要


為了解目前台灣地區大學校院日語主修系所各年級學生現階段聽力、用法、字彙與閱讀三項能力發展,以及比較本研究計畫所採用之評量工具「外語能力測驗」之主要對象考生即公民營企業在職者,與在校生之日語能力是否存在顯著差異,財團法人語言訓練測驗中心於2004年抽樣邀請七所大學校院參與「台灣地區大學校院歐、日語主修生語言能力評量」日語研究計畫。測驗採聽力、用法、字彙與閱讀三項筆試。測驗結果:全體考生,以聽力測驗表現最佳,其次依序為用法測驗、字彙與閲讀測驗。依學制別排序,平均成績由高至低為研究所、二技、大學、四技、五專,與學制所代表的學齢高低成正相關。其中五専五年級與一般大學二年組的平均成績表現,最接近全體考生之平均值。就性別而論,男女考生三項測驗成績表現相當。三項測驗難度分析顯示「外語能力測驗」日語測驗適合國内五専五年組及大二以上程度學生。問卷調査結果亦反映本次聽力、用法及字彙閲讀三項測驗可有效檢測學生日語學習成果。

The Language Training and Testing Center conducted a study in 2004, entitled Assessing Language Abilities of Japanese and European Language Majors at Colleges in Taiwan. For the Japanese component of this study, students from seven colleges were involved and sampled. The purposes of this study were two: first, to investigate the students' language development in listening, usage and vocabulary and reading at the present stage of learning; and second, to compare the Japanese proficiency level of Japanese majors at school with that of employees in public service and private sector. Both groups are the primary target groups of the Foreign Language Proficiency Test (FLPT), the measure used in this study.The participants took a written test containing three sections: listening, usage, and vocabulary and reading (VR). The results show that the participants performed best on the listening test, with their performances on the usage test coming in second, and that on VR, last. The ranking of school systems in order of performance is as follows: graduate school, two-year technical college, university, four-year technical college, and five-year junior college. The participants' scores generally correspond to the number of years they have studied in college. Among all the participants, fifth-year students at the five-year junior colleges and sophomores at the universities performed almost equally well, and their average scores are closest to those of all the participants. Males and females performed equally well on the three sections of the test.The difficulty analysis of the FLPT shows that the test is suitable for fifth-year students at five-year junior colleges and sophomores at universities, and other students above the two levels of proficiency. The survey shows that the listening, usage and VR tests of the FLPT can effectively assess the students' achievement in learning.
