發展遲緩兒早期療育之概念與模式

Concept and Model of Developmental Delay and Early Intervention in Children

摘要


發展遲緩兒童是指在認知發展、生理發展、語言發展、社會心理發展及自理能力等五種領域中至少有一項,其身心發展有遲緩現象者。由於大部分的發展遲緩原因不明,且沒有絕對治癒的有效方法;因此,及早介入療育即可及早預防並降低其障礙程度。本文之目的為藉由相關文獻探討發展遲緩的定義及成因、早期療育的重要性、父母如何早期發現兒童有發展遲緩的情形,以及醫療人員在早期療育的角色及功能。

Children with developmental delay are those who at least one of the five aspects is abnormal, including cognitive development, physical development, language and communication development, psychosocial development and self-care skill. Most of the causes of developmental delay are unknown and there is ineffective way for curing. Therefore, it is important to begin intervention as soon as possible in reducing or preventing secondary disabilities. The purposes of this article present the definition and etiology of developmental delay, the importance of early intervention, how to early detect children with developmental delay, and the role of the health professionals in early intervention.
