頸椎手術後症候群之中醫針刺治療－病例報告

摘要

54歲女性患者，因頸椎退化合併脊髓壓迫、後縱韌帶骨化，導致雙手手麻與無力，經頸椎減壓融合手術治療後症狀加劇，出現「脊椎手術後症候群」，多次復健無效後至本院中醫針灸科求診。針刺治療後，其症狀立即獲得緩解。雖仍有所反覆，但經多次治療，手麻與無力感逐步改善，原先無法執行之日常動作，都可正常執行。此病例在針刺後症減，並且恢復生活品質，可以提供病患復健治療之外的另一選擇。

In this report, we present a 54-year-old woman who suffered from persistent numbness and weakness of both upper extremities after cervical spine operation for spinal stenosis due to degenerative changes of the cervical vertebrae, spondylolisthesis, and herniated intervertebral discs. She received several courses of physical therapy soon after the surgery, but the effect was limited. Therefore, she visited our acupuncture department to seek for helps. Both numbness and weakness over her hands immediately alleviated after each session of acupuncture, and although the symptoms partially rebounded several days after the treatment, the overall severity gradually decreased with further sessions of acupuncture. At her last visit, she could clamp her fists firmly and perform some daily activities with ease which was not possible before or just after the surgery. This case demonstrated that acupuncture may serve as an alternative therapeutic option in the treatment of post-surgical spine syndrome.
