Specialists working in the field of the language development of hearing-impaired children underline the importance of early implantation (Manrique, Cervera-paz, Huarte, & Molina, 2004). This study probed tone acquisition in a hearing-impaired child with early implantation, and compared him with his hearing-normal fraternal twin sister. They were observed at home, once every 2 weeks, from the age of 4 months to 34 months. This current study reports the observation from 18 to 24 months. The results indicated that the hearing-impaired child produced high falling tone with the most precision, and correctly produced high level tone and high falling tone more frequently than other tones. The hearing-impaired child also showed improvement in the difference between maximum and minimum of fundamental frequencies.
