護理指導對外籍配偶的哺乳型態、哺餵母乳知識及態度之成效探討

The Effects of Nursing Guidance on the Breastfeeding Patterns, Knowledge and Attitudes of Foreign Spouses

摘要

This study used official hygiene manuals to provide nursing guidance (NG) to 124 foreign spouses (38 Vietnamese, 23 Indonesians, 63 Chinese mainlanders) and studied the effects of NG on the breastfeeding patterns, knowledge and attitudes of the study group. Key findings included: 1. pregnant women who were a higher education level displayed higher willingness to perform the full breastfeeding regimen. Similarly, those individuals holding a job were more willing to perform the full breastfeeding regimen than those who were not employed; 2. The improvement ratio for foreign spouses was 62.5% after receiving NG, with Chi-square test results for breastfeeding patterns before and after NG showing significance (p<.05). This means that NG has a significant effect on the breastfeeding patterns of foreign spouses; 3. The results of a pair sample test revealed that the means for breastfeeding knowledge of foreign spouses ”before taking NG” and ”after taking NG” are significantly correlated (p<.05). The mean for breastfeeding knowledge of foreign spouses after receiving NG is significantly higher than that for foreign spouses before receiving NG (means rose from 22.2 before to 33.1 after receiving NG); 4. Results of the pair sample test also show that means for breastfeeding attitude of foreign spouses ”before taking NG” and ”after taking NG” are significantly correlated (p<.05). This indicates that foreign spouses are more willing to breastfeed after receiving NG. This study also found that a very high percentage of subjects who had received the NG still provided wrong answers to the following three questions: ”Mothers with HBV cannot breastfeed”, ”Mothers on flu medication cannot breastfeed” and ”I believe mothers should breastfeed to a fixed quantity at regular times”. These persistent misperceptions should be emphasized in breastfeeding education conducted in the future.
