後母?難為?繼任導師班級經營困擾的原因與解決策略

Being a "Stepmother-Like" Teacher? Too Challenging? Causes and Preparation for Taking Over a Class Halfway and the Solution Strategies of Management Problems

摘要


目前國小級任老師的安排,分低、中、高三個年段兩年一任,而國中導師三年一任,如果中途接班,就成為繼任導師,該班則成為俗稱的「後母班」。然而後母班形成的原因是什麼呢?繼任導師接手後母班時應做好哪些準備?可尋求哪些對象的協助?其遭遇班級經營特有困擾的原因及解決策略為何呢?本文藉由訪談法,針對有繼任導師經驗的25名教師進行半結構訪談,結果發現:1.後母班的形成主觀因素是因為預期心理和比較心理。2.繼任導師接手後母班時應多尋求前任導師、同學年教師和行政人員的協助,而對學生背景要事前多做了解、儘快和家長聯繫,並有和學生重新開始的心態。3.繼任導師遭遇班級經營困擾的特有原因是受到前任導師帶班風格、學生對二任導師比較心理、師生相處時間短的影響。4.針對這些特有困擾的解決策略是不要急、要有磨合期、不要和前任導師做比較、掌握學生特性及帶頭人物,以及導師本身的作為及與任課老師的配合等,可以有效處理這些困擾。

Homeroom teachers at Elementary schools in Taiwan are mostly assigned a 2-year job at low level, middle level and high level classes respectively, while their counterparts at junior high schools are assigned a 3-year job at a time. A teacher taking over a class halfway is called a "stepmother-like" teacher. What leads to a class with a "stepmother "teacher? What problems would that teacher face and how is she able to cope with them? This study has conducted a semi-structured interview with 25 well- experienced teachers. The findings are as follow: 1. A "stepmother" teacher is the result of both the psychological expectation and comparison. 2. A takeover teacher should seek various assistance from the classes' previous homeroom teacher, colleagues teaching the same grade as well as the school's administrators. She should also learn more about the students' backgrounds, actively make contact with their parents and adjust herself to have a fresh start with her students. 3. The classroom management problems she counters come from taking over halfway, students' comparison to their previous homeroom teacher and the current atmosphere of the class. 4. The solutions to those problems are being patient, allowing a running-in period for both, not making comparison with the predecessor, understanding the students' characteristics and getting hold of their classroom leaders, presenting one's proper attitude to them and being cooperative with other teachers. These should help solve the problems effectively.
