摘要

一個族群的身分建構與族群意識很難自主形成，通常是在「內／外」、「你／我」比較的角力歷程當中產生的。對於Métis而言，這個問題也是如此。然而這些少數民族在被外來強權壓迫許久之後終於得到一個自我追尋、自我管理的機會，卻免除不了來自全球化的俗世壓力。這股無所不在的壓力是否會在某種程度上取代過去統治者對少數民族有形無形的迫害，是本文觀察的重點。

A people's self-identity and its identity construction procedure can usually be done under the external pressure, and the Métis people make no exception. However, this minority can finally be offered an opportunity of liberation and self-governance after centuries of foreign power's dominance, it can't help but facing the phenomenon of globalization. Will now the globalization replace the foreign power's role and continue to exercise pressure on it?
