摘要

語言kap國族（民族）ê關係，有人主張無必然ê關係，有人則認為語言kap國族有真密切ê關係。Tī語言kap國族這個議題，王育德雖罔無表明家己是一個「語言國族主義」ê信奉者，但是，伊卻用行動表示伊是一個百分之百ê「語言國族主義」ê實踐者。王育德ê夫人王雪梅女士講：「在育德的身上『台灣話研究』和『台灣獨立運動』是自然而融為一體的」。Tī伊推sak台灣獨立運動ê過程中，台語ê研究kap推廣一直是伊所關心ê政治學主題，母語kap民族愛ê結合，促成王育德以一個語言學家ê身份，運用語言學ê學識素養，一生追求台灣獨立建國ê實踐，伊m̄-nā為台語研究建立一座金字塔，也tī台灣ê民主化過程中留下不朽ê影響。

Some insist that there is no definite relationship between language and culture, while others believe that there is an intimate relationship between the two. On the topic of language and culture, Ong Iok-Tik did not declare himself a follower of the ”Language Culture Ideology,” still, he has shown with action that he is 100% one who practices such ideology. Ong Iok-Tik's wife Ms. Ong Suat-Mui stated, ”In Iok-Tik you can see the fusion of both 'Taiwanese language studies' and 'Taiwanese Independence Movement' into one body.” In the process of promoting the Taiwanese Independence Movement, Taiwanese language studies and publicity are his primary interests on the topic of politics; the combination of mother tongue and cultural pride is what built Ong Iok-Tik's identiy as a linguist. Using the knowledge of linguistics, he spends his life in pursuit of realizing, in practice, Taiwanese independence and the foundation of its nation. Not only has he built a pyramid for Taiwanese language studies, he has also left behind him a lasting influence in the process of Taiwanese democratization.
