In both globalization and localization trends in Taiwan, one faces the question of how to overcome the pressure of solving the problems of civic education, an issue that should be pondered and implemented to improve social development. When introducing the concept of Western values into civic education, discovering and utilizing the characteristics of local natural resources as references for educational policy are particularly needed. This research sought to investigate these issues from the aspects of both real and academic life to identify, transform and select civic-awareness resources obtained from rural society as a background for decision-making regarding civic education.
