Traditional behavior management focused on controlling behavior by either punishment or reinforcement and could be a lack of consideration about behavioral information which might communicate individual's inner needs. Therefore, such external control strategies may cause more behavioral problem. In contrast, positive behavioral support (PBS) strategies taught individuals employ social acceptable forms to express their needs to decrease problem behaviors.
