In recent years, the birth rate in Taiwan has decreased, but the proportion of new immigrant children has been increasing. However, by reviewing the past researches related to new immigrant children, most of the researches focused on children's weakness and remedial instruction, rarely were the children's strengths been discussed. In this study, the authors used the Multiple Intelligences Developmental Assessment Scales to investigate the relationship between outstanding performance and potential of one child whose mother was from Indonesia. The authors also conducted a semi-structured interview to understand the mother's parenting attitudes in communicating the positive concepts with her child.
