Using the framework of Andre Lefevere's theoretical concept of translation and Michael Cronin's opinion towards translational politics, this paper explores the influence of governmental patronage on the translation of Taiwan literature into foreign languages via analyzing the publication of Bibliographical Synopses of Translated Taiwan Literature (1990-2011). As a result of this study, the translated Taiwan literature in different languages has its own characteristics. Most of the translators in English, Japanese, and Korean fields are from academics; translators in other languages select works with a favor-oriented way. In order to enhance the competitiveness of Taiwan cultures, government should invite the experts of translation and marketing to join this task, and should continuously invest enough manpower and funds to support and to promote the translation of Taiwan Literature.
