This article has shown the importance of the four methods of TCM: observation, auscultation and olfaction, inquiry and pulse diagnosis, through the case study of scapula fracture. The patient is a 48 y/o male who suffered from MVA, and was sent to two hospitals for treatment. The first diagnosis was fracture of left 3(superscript rd) rib. The other hospital diagnosed him of fracture of left 6(superscript th) (7(superscript th)) rib. Two weeks later, he came to our department due to pain on chest, back and left shoulder, swelling of left chest and back, and aggravated pain of left shoulder during motion. We apply four diagnostic methods of TCM with the help of X-ray, and concluded his problem as fracture of left scapula. He is cured by applying TCM manipulation and immobilization of figure 8 bandage.
