台灣之星－王建民在2005年和2006年大聯盟棒球季投球表現之比較

摘要

2005年是台灣之星－王建民初上大聯盟的第一年，一般而言，大聯盟的強力打擊、主客場的球迷氣氛、滿場的觀眾人數以及高張力的比賽強度，常讓大聯盟菜鳥投手無法發揮其應有的水準，但王建民卻有不錯的成績。隔年的2006年則是大放異彩的一年。爲了解比賽變數對王建民投球表現的影響，本研究旨在分析王建民於2005年和2006年相同投球場數（出賽18場）中，在主客場、天然人工草皮球場、白天晚上出賽等不同比賽變數之投球表現。結果發現：一、2005年王建民在客場和人工草皮球場出場時的戰績較不理想，此與防禦率、滾地球／飛球出局比率、被安打數、長打率等不佳有關；白天出場在九局保送數1.55和每局安打保送數0.93的優異表現下，取得3勝0敗防禦率1.86的全勝戰績。二、2006年主場的獲勝率高達6成，主因在於每局投球數和防禦率較低，且九局保送數和九局安打數較少，說明王建民在主場控球能力較佳，因而被安打率較少。白天出賽的防禦率3.77低於晚上出賽的4.15，而取得五成的勝率以及一場救援點。三、兩年比較方面，九局三振數由3.64降至3.04，但九局保送數由2.48降低至2.16，顯示2006的控球能力稍有進步；王建民在客場的防禦率和滾地球／飛球出局比率均高於主場；2006年在人工球場的勝率較2005年有所提高，主因在於有較佳的製造出局能力和能壓制對手的攻擊。因此，本研究認爲王建民應可增加主場和白天出賽的場數，並克服客場魔咒。

2005 is first year that Chien-Ming Wang pitches on Major League Baseball. Normally, power batting, metal pressure at away game, a lot of fans and high intensity are affect on performance of rookie pitcher, but Wang done well and got good performance. Further, Wang have fantastic record compare to all of pitcher in MLB in 2006. In order to understand that how competitive environment influence on Wang's performance. The purpose of this study was to analyze Wang's performance at home/away game, natural grass/artificial turf, and day/night game in 2005 and 2006. All data are collected from official website of MLB. The results shown (1) Wang has not good performance at away game and artificial turf in 2005. It were result from high Earned Run Average (ERA), ground/fly out, number of hits, struggle batting average. (2) Wang has 60% wining percentage at home game in 2006, because of lower pitches number per inning, ERA, walks and hits per nine innings. (3) In 2005 and 2006, strike out per nine innings decreased from 3.64 to 3.04. Wang' control ability increased due to walks per nine innings depress fro 2.48 to 2.16. ERA and ground/fly out are both higher at away game in both years. Winning percentage at artificial turf in 2006 was higher in 2005. The findings suggested that Wang might increase times of pitching on the mound at home game and day game.
