Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a common problem among middle-aged men. Symptoms may include inability to urinate, intermittent urination, frequent or urgent need to urinate, nocturia, and inability to completely empty the bladder. Treatment options including lifestyle changes, medications and surgery. BPH belongs to the category of " Long Bi " in Chinese medicine. It is associated with kidney qi vacuity, qi stagnation, blood stasis and phlegm turbidity. The main problem of this case is kidney qi vacuity ,but blood stasis should be considered as well. So we prescribe Liu-wei-di-huang-wan and Ji-sheng-shen-qi-wan to supplement the kidney and Gui-zhi-fu-ling-wan to transform blood stasis. After three months of the treatment, the patient experienced smooth urination, improved frequency, reduced urgency and nocturia, quality of life also improved.
