Cough after cold is a common symptom. Meanwhile, Traditional Chinese Medicine emphasized treatment based on syndrome differentiation, which means one symptom could lead to many different therapies based on separate etiology and pathogenesis. This report included two cases of repeated cough after common cold in children. The first case is about a 10-year-old girl who got common cold with sore throat, yellow nasal discharge and cough. Most of the symptoms had improved after taking medicine prescribed by local clinic, except for cough, which attacked repeatedly. The second one is about a 4-year-old boy who fond of desserts and ice. He got cold every month since June, 2018, and had coughed from time to time. Via these cases, we could learned the essence of treatment based on syndrome differentiation and treating the same disease with different therapies in Traditional Chinese Medicine theory.
