Exploring the Effect of the Online Testing System as an Assistance Tool on the Learning Results of College Majors in Nursing

摘要


The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of the online testing system on the learning results of college majors in nursing. Quai-experimental design was applied, and a total of 303 samples were selected from the junior college students in third year, who had learned the subject of physical examination and assessment and randomized into two groups under different teaching strategies: one with an online testing system as an assistance tool and the other without using the system. The study concluded: (1) Most of the participating students (N=290, 95.7%) had an internet access at home and 161 of them used the internet for no more than 10 hours per week. 132 students (43.56%) of all used the online testing system for at least two subjects (2) Those in the group of the online testing system outperformed those in the other group in terms of learning results. Therefore, the study supports and provides the evidence for the use of online testing systems in teaching, which is likely to contribute to student's positive learning outcome and attitude.
