Aging process in joints includes decreased range of motion, relaxed ligaments, reduced thickness of fatty pads in the heels and metatarsal heads, and dryness of skin. Older adults with Diabetes Mellitus are at increased risk in developing foot ulcers due to peripheral arterial disease and sensory neuropathy. Many elder diabetic patients experience injured in the feet. Once diabetic patients develop foot ulcers, the risk of eventual limb amputation is high. All elder diabetic patients should receive regular foot examination and education on foot care. Nursing care plan requires daily foot inspection, foot skin care, and preventive education for patient and primary care taker.
