摘要

本研究採用分量回歸的方法來測試於西元1965年至2005年間台灣經濟的成長在不同的時期中對旅遊業的影響。本研究發現經濟成長確實影響了旅遊業之增長。對於在台灣的旅遊業，特別是經濟成長率較高的時期對於觀光發展有顯著的影響。然而，在於經濟成長率較低的時期，經濟發展並沒有顯著影響旅遊業的發展。本研究的貢獻是了解到不同的經濟發展時期對觀光旅遊業的影響，並提供了一個較全面的探討。

This research applied a quantile regression approach to test the effects of economic growth on tourism growth at the different conditional tourism growth distribution from 1965 to 2005 in Taiwan. The key finding of this study is that economic growth has a positive effect on tourism growth at the top end of distribution of tourism growth in Taiwan. However, economic growth has no significant effect on tourism growth at the low end of distribution of tourism growth. The contribution of this study lie s in pro viding empirical evidence to demonstrate that whether economic growth will affect tourism growth depends on the conditional distribution of tourism growth.
