探討空間視覺能力在服裝設計課程之應用效能

「空間」是指平面或立體的區域或範圍，也是視覺設計、造形設計的基本元素。「空間能力」或「空間性向」被認為是成功的創作藝術相關工作者的必要條件之一(Humphreys, Lubinski, & Yao, 1993)。本研究之目的是探討以「服飾空間視覺測驗」ASVT-apparel spatial visualization test測試經由服裝設計課程，間接訓練學生「空間視覺能力」之效果。「Vz-2折紙測驗」及「平面發展測驗」是針對一般空間視覺能力GSVT之測試，「服飾空間視覺測驗」則是專門針對服飾「領域」測量其空間視覺的能力。本研究根據空間能力相關文獻的探討分析，並以空間能力理論架構，提出研究假設，應用於服裝設計課程「空間能力」之訓練，同時採用「紙-筆測試空間能力測驗」(paper-and-pencil spatial test)方式進行調查，以視覺空間智能之測試，探討設計課程之空間視覺能力之效能。本研究結果指出一般空間相關能力測驗與服飾空間視覺能力測驗有相當程度相關；服飾設計課程對一般空間視覺能力與服飾空間視覺能力均有顯著效能影響；不同服飾設計訓練程度背景的學生樣本接受服設課程訓練後，在服飾空間視覺能力測驗的分數有顯著差異。

Creating, shaping, or transforming objects in some way and concept generation are associated with spatial abilities (Humphreys, Lubinski, & Yao, 1993). The purpose of this research was to examine the effects of spatial visual visualization ability by using the apparel spatial visualization test (paper-and-pencil spatial test) to assess spatial ability of the students in apparel design courses. GSVT-General Spatial Visualization Test included PFT-Paper Folding Test and Vz-2-BRACE, that is, SDT-Surface Development Test and ASVT-Apparel Spatial Visualization Test, those two tests measure spatial ability relative to product development and apparel design. The results revealed ASVT was correlated with GSVT. Scores on both tests reflect improvement in spatial abilities as a function of apparel design courses training. Students with training scored higher on the ASVT but did not differ in their scores on the GSVT compared to those with no training.
