菲律賓華文學校的四大病灶

Four Major Problems in Filipino Chinese Schools of the Philippines

摘要


今日菲律賓華教與華校已經到了不可不變、不變必滅的歷史關頭。本地華文教育界一向不缺「遠景」或「理想」,問題出在根部-越不願意面對、處理或直攻病灶,華文教育正好就從根爛起。在存亡絕續的歷史關頭,更應該要勇敢地承認現處之困境,鼓起面對真實之勇氣,力求直探癥結、謀求對策。本文以學生來源、華校財務、教師難覓、督課制度這四項病灶切入,希冀能與讀者一同思考:處於這些「不願面對的真相」中,菲律賓華校究竟該何去何從?

Today, the Chinese education in the Philippines needs transformation. It is not the lack of perspective or ideals but the problem lies in its root. If there is no appropriate action done, Chinese education will start to rot from its root. For it to survive, we should acknowledge the problem, face the truth courageously, act directly on the problem, and think of ways to solve the problem. The four major problems affecting the Chinese schools in the Philippines are the decrease in the number of students, the financial problem of the school, difficulty in hiring teachers, and tutoring. I hope that the readers will ponder on the situation that we are facing and come up with solutions on these problems.
