This essay tries to understand the strategy of social alignment adopted by the Sakizaya and the Kavalan after the Kaliawan Accident. This strategy can be seen as the most important method to help these two groups to continue their ethnic life after their dramatic forced migration. The strategy of Zhao Lang, a form of marriage in which a man lives with his wife's family after his marriage, provided the Sakizaya and the Kavalan with immediate labor to their families as well as the community.
