《儀若日記》中的鄒嘉來早期人際網絡

鄒嘉來（1853-1921）是清季外交界的重要人物，卻長期未受晚清輿論與歷史研究者的重視，不僅常遭晚清輿論奚落，史學界甚至對其背景亦少了解。然鄒嘉來既是晚清至民初鼎革之際的重要外交主事人物，其人際關係不僅可檢視清季的外交界人事網絡，也可藉以認識斯時的士紳日常生活、交誼活動，故也有社會史研究的價值。本文即欲以目前典藏於日本「東洋文庫」、極少予以利用的史料《儀若日記》，就其中所載人物的往來狀況，及鄒嘉來在該日記中的書寫筆法，進行其個人人際網路的初探。由於過去對於鄒嘉來的研究甚少，《儀若日記》此一史料的問世，實可對於鄒嘉來的生平有更多了解，從而增進今日學界對晚清外交人物的認識程度。此外，亦將藉此認識晚清的官場情況與士人生活，例如「蘇常士人」的人際圈等。並探討鄒嘉來個人在文化意識上的「認同」（identity）情形，及該日記在史料價值上的定位。

ZouJia-Lai(1852-1921) was a prominent figure in the diplomatic sector in late-Ching Dynasty. However, during that period of time, he not only had not received due attention and due respect from either the mass media or the historians, the public opinions even often made a mock of him. The historical sector actually had not been quite familiar with Zou's background and life since the late-Ching period up to now. Nevertheless, having been an important figure of the diplomatic circle in the late-Ching period, Zou's personal and diplomatic relationships with people around him could surely be of great value in both the study and research of the personnel network in the diplomatic realm and of the routine life of the elite society of that period of time. This article is basically written based on the seldom-used materials derived from the ＂Yi-Rou’s Diary＂, kept in Toyo Bunko in Tokyo, written by ZouJia-Lai in his own person. The contents of the diary and the way how Zou wrote the diary enables us to be able to engage in a primary study of Zou's human relationship and personal connections in his life of early stage and meanwhile allows us to be able to have a better understanding of the life of the officialdom and that of the gentry in the Ching Dynasty. This article will also deal with Zou's cultural identity and his inner character, as well as the kind of credit Zou's diary should deserve in terms of the historical values it could provide.
