新加坡南洋客屬總會八十年代轉型時期所採取的人文化成策略及其成效－以《客總會訊》為考察中心

摘要

作為一個宗鄉社群組織，南洋客屬總會在具體的決策與行動上的著力點落在經濟與文化上，在上世紀八十年代的轉型時期尤其如此。經濟攸關國計民生，新加坡客家社群亦多從事工商業，因此，在經濟衰退時期，南洋客屬總會（及《客總會訊》）對經濟的關注與討論頗為頻繁。然而相比之下，文化更是受到重視與貫徹。具體而言，南洋客屬總會始終重視對傳統文化的繼承與革新發展，配合國家文化政策，相繼提倡並積極問及講華語運動、推廣儒家思想運動等。繼承，固然本於對族群文化的熱愛與堅持；革新發展，則是因應時代社會的轉型需要。

As a clan community organization, Nanyang Khek Community Guild intensified its policy decision and manipulation in specific focus on economy and culture, especially in the period of transition in the Eighties of the last century. Economic plays an important role in people's living, Khek communities in Singapore were found to be engaged mostly in industry and commerce. Therefore, Nanyang Khek Community Guild (and ”Nanyang Khek Community Guild Bulletin”) has paid particular concern and discussed frequently in economy in the recess ion period. Comparatively, culture was taken as a more serious issue with implementation. In particular, Nanyang Khek Community Guild of Singapore has always paid attention to the importance of traditional culture and innovative development in conjunction with national cultural policies, to promote and actively carry out Mandarin Speaking Campaign, and actions to promote Confucianism. Passion and persistence of civil culture are the heritage, whereas innovation and development are the consequence of transformation of the society in need.
