運用合作搜尋系統提升解決資訊問題效率

Exploiting Collaborative Search System to Improve Information Problem-Solving Performance

摘要


合作搜尋是一種嶄新的社群搜尋概念,透過人與人之間互助合作提升解決資訊問題效率。合作搜尋提供一種合作分享環境,讓人們可以共同處理及完成工作任務,而在合作分享過程中能互相引導與學習,進而提升個人的資料搜尋技巧及資料判斷能力。在這篇論文,我們發展一套合作搜尋系統,並運用此系統探討對於大學學生在解決資訊問題時所產生的影響。從實驗結果中發現,合作搜尋系統有明顯提升團體內部的解決資訊問題效率,並降低學生重複瀏覽搜尋結果時的負擔。此外進一步分析學生合作搜尋紀錄發現,在課程作業活動之後,他們的資料搜尋技巧和資料判斷能力均有所提升。

Collaborative Search is a new social search concept that uses group collaboration to do this assistant job. Collaborative search provides a sharing space in Internet and allows people to solve their search problem together. People can learn from each other and guide less experienced members through their searches. Their search ability can also be improved by exchange knowledge in those social activities. In this study, we developed a Collaborative Search System and reported a case study of its influence on undergraduate students' information problem-solving when they search in Internet. Results showed that the collaborative search could help students' group search processes, improve their search outcomes and reduce difficulty in information retrieval. A measurement of students' search histories also indicated that their search skills and evaluation abilities were promoted by collaborative search.
