摘要

維骨力，廣泛性使用在改善退化性關節炎之症狀，在1995至2009年間在台灣的銷售量逐步竄起，本篇依模擬臨床情境查證維骨力之功效，剖析其主要情境，依實證醫學步驟：發掘問題、資料搜尋、資料分析以及制定決策，經由跨領域團隊的專業意見，經嚴格評讀相關文獻綜合分析與成本效益分析，彙整所獲得之最佳實證結果，決策提供個案或家屬正確的建議：葡萄糖胺對膝部退化性關節炎無法證實有顯著效果，包括減輕疼痛、改善功能、延緩關節退化速度等方面，因此不推薦使用。惟部分研究顯示葡萄糖胺對膝部退化性關節炎具有效果，且葡萄糖胺是安全性高的藥物，若病人自行服用亦不反對，但若無效則停止使用。

Viartril, a prescription drug with the constituent of glucosamine sulfate that was manufactured to treat degenerative osteoarthritis (OA), has surged in sales and volume since 1995 to 2009 in Taiwan. According to the simulated clinical situation, people with osteoarthritis who take glucosamine: 1. May reduce their pain. 2. May improve their physical function. 3. Will probably not have side effects-based on evidence-based medicine and PICO method, we assess the strength of the evidence of risks and benefits of glucosamine sulfate, review studies using a non-Rotta preparation or adequate allocation concealment failed to show benefit in pain and WOMAC function while those studies evaluating the Rotta preparation showed that glucosamine was superior to placebo in the treatment of pain and functional impairment resulting from symptomatic OA.
