Gendered violence is a result of patriarchal society; the phenomenon is so deeply rooted that women are regularly subjected to gender oppression and are unable to break the gender barrier. Shieh (2014) maintained that to eliminate any form of gender oppression and domination and to build gender equality, the association between gender oppression and gendered violence must be deconstructed and reconstructed, basic human rights must be protected, and social justice and fair distribution of resources must be attained. Therefore, the present study used the development and implementation history of feminism to analyze the implementation of the Domestic Violence Prevention Act in Taiwan, identify the basis for preventing gendered violence, and propose future development strategies for managing gendered violence.
