The academic and practice fields of Adventure Therapy (AT) are experiencing substantial growth and become well-know in western countries during the past ten years; however, in Taiwan, in the fields of psychotherapy, clinical psychology, counseling, and outdoor adventure are still unfamiliar with AT. The author is the member of Therapeutic Adventure Professional Group (TAPG). Through his profession, this article is intended to provide an overview for those readers to help themselves better understanding the theories and principals of AT. The author believes that there is broader mental health treatment based on AT to heal the clients. This paper also figures out the theoretical constructs in commons and differences comparing with other treatments and highlights the unique of AT.
