各國高齡者身體活動指引、指南與建議

Physical Activity Guidelines and Recommendations for Older Adults of Different Countries

摘要


從事充足的身體活動能夠促進高齡者生理及心理健康,且有助於減少跌倒與失能之風險,降低高齡者缺乏身體活動之比率成為各國公共衛生領域迫切之議題。然而,目前國內學術領域尚未有針對各國高齡者身體活動指南進行全面性之探究。據此,本研究之目的為綜整國內外政府衛生單位之高齡者身體活動指南,依照身體活動之類型、頻率、強度、期間與總時間等分別介紹,並比較我國與世界衛生組織、歐盟、美國、加拿大、澳洲、芬蘭、新加坡及日本之異同。根據本文整理發現我國與世界衛生組織、歐盟、美國等國家之身體活動指南大致相符,內容多以有氧身體活動、肌力活動為兩種主要身體活動類型,並分別給予每週從事150分鐘以上中強度有氧身體活動或60~75分鐘以上高強度有氧身體活動,與每週至少從事2次以上肌力活動之身體活動建議。本研究建議政府及有關單位未來可以透過全國性的調查來瞭解目前高齡者從事身體活動之現況,並找出未達每週有氧身體活動及肌力活動建議之高危險族群,以利我國政府相關單位在發展相關決策時,作為參考依據,進而促進高齡者生活品質與達到活躍老化之願景。

Sufficient levels of physical activity has been shown to promote physical and mental health and reduce the risk of falls and disability in older adults. Reducing the prevalence of physical inactivity in older adults has become a global public health concern. However, studies in Taiwan are limited to review and compare physical activity guidelines for older adults of different countries. Thus, this study aimed to compare physical activity guidelines and recommendations for older adults of World Health Organization, European Union, United States, Canada, Australia, Finland, Singapore, Japan, and Taiwan based on type, frequency, intensity, duration and total amount of physical activity. The results show that the physical activity guideline for Taiwanese older adults are consistent with those of most countries. It is recommended that older adults should achieve at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 60-75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity, and engage in strength training activities at least 2 days per week. This study suggests that future national surveys should be conducted to better understand the prevalence of not meeting aerobic physical activity and strength training recommendations and identify the at-risk population of older adults. This could be important to enhance older adults' quality of life and achieve the goal of active aging.
