摘要

女性美貌的迷思是由父權體制與資本主義所制定的規範而形成，在形塑這些女性形象的歷程中，強調女性的美貌是自我追求的重要目標，而女性開始對於週遭人、事、物溝通而逐漸蛻變成為社會期許下的女性特質。女性身體意象作為宣傳或描寫的實際案例中，形塑影像所扮演的已經不僅只是消費，同時也「教化」(discipline)了觀者，無形之中對於觀者在視覺認知中塑造了某些程度上的審美觀念。人們對美貌的認知過程當中，或許會因「人」而異，但不置可否，這些個體化經驗的差異，其實也包含了一種文化建構與社會規約的學習歷程。本創作以女性貶抑原有的容貌去迎合大眾的規範，因為不完美而打造完美為中心出發，旨在解讀出社會文化與女性身體意象之美貌迷思，進而探討女性追求「整形」的相關議題，並據此發展出「潘朵拉的詛咒」系列作品之創作，以闡述女性身體意象之美貌迷思轉化為圖像語彙，藉此刺激起女性對於美的體認與反省並抽離外貌的束縛，肯定自然的容貌與內在特質意義。
