本文係筆者在進行有關日治時期台灣視覺設計研究主題之前的相關研究文獻初步整理分析。首先,就近年來國內關於日治時期台灣視覺設計之相關研究文獻進行蒐集、歸類,並加以研讀、分析。期能透過文獻探討之過程,以瞭解目前台灣視覺設計史、設計文化研究之主要論述焦點與發展趨勢;並藉以釐清未來有關日治時期台灣視覺設計研究發展之課題與方向,作為往後研究主題進行時之參考。經由相關文獻之整理、分析後可以發現,近十年來有關日治時期此特殊階段的台灣視覺設計研究風氣逐漸蓬勃發展,研究之成果亦相當豐碩。但綜觀分析之結果,仍可歸納下列當令有關日治時期台灣視覺設計史或設計文化研究之發展現況與趨勢:(1).運用豐富史料加以解釋的歷史研究(2).多樣化設計類型探討的研究(3).形式主義為主的研究導向(4)多元化論述觀點之未來研究趨勢。此外, 更經由藝術史與設計史研究方法的分析、比較,以提出目前有關此階段台灣視覺設計史研究的主要取向與未來發展,包括有:形式主義取向、設計技術取向、社會文化取向、符號學取向。
This text is the tentative management analysis of concerned studied documents before I starting the subject of Taiwan visual design research in Japanese occupying period. Above all, to collect, classify, study, and analyze the concerned studied document of Taiwan visual design in Japanese occupying period in Taiwan lately. I hope to understand the development tendency and main exposition points of Taiwan visual design history and design culture research at present through studying the documents; and recognize the task and direction of Taiwan visual design development in Japanese occupying period in the future, and let it to be the reference of studying the subject in the future. Through the management and analysis of concerned documents, we can find the common practice of Taiwan visual design research in Japanese occupying period in this special phase has been extending gradually in recent ten years, and also rich in the result of researches. But after we checking the analysis' result, we still can sum up the development in present situation and tendency of Taiwan visual design history or design culture research as follows: (1) Historical study explained by abundant historical data, (2) Research of multi-designs exploring, (3) Formalism is main research direction, (4) Future's study tendency of multi-exposition's viewpoint. Besides, raise the main direction and the development in future of Taiwan visual design history in this phase at present from the analysis and comparison of study methods of art history and design history, include direction of formalism, design skill, social culture, and symbolism.
