A Study of Canonical Correlation Analysis of Teaching Styles of Physical Education Teacher and Motivation, Learning Satisfaction of Student

摘要

The purposes of this study were: 1.to explore the relationships of teachers' teaching styles to students' motivation and learning satisfaction; 2.to explore the effects of canonical correlation analysis of teaching style of physical education on students' motivation and learning satisfaction. The participants were students on Tak-ming College of Technology who selected tennis as Interest-Divided Physical Education Program. The ”Teaching Style Inventory”, ”Sport Motivation Scale”, and ”Learning Satisfaction Inventory” were administered for the study. The following results were found: 1. Teaching attitude was the major factor to affect students' motivation and satisfaction. 2.The first and second canonical correlation coefficients between the teacher's ”teaching attitude”, ”teaching management”, and ”teaching instruction”, and students' ”intrinsic motivation”, ”extrinsic motivation”, ”a-motivation” and ”learning satisfaction”, are .716 and .260, which have reached a significant level (p<.05). the canonical variables χ1 and χ2 were able to explain up to 31.293% of total variables of students' ”intrinsic motivation”, ”extrinsic motivation”, ”a-motivation” of motivation and learning satisfaction. The conclusion of this research has suggested that the teaching style had a significant correlation and interpretation to students' motivation and learning satisfaction. According to the results, some applications of the study and suggestions for the future study were offered.
