An Analysis of Physical Activity Working Adult College Students Spend Time on in Their Physical Education Classes

A physical education program at any college or university is supposed to provide equal opportunities to any individual student who wishes to participate regardless of his or her talent so as to develop the student's athletic skills and to foster his or her physical and mental well being. Exercise can surely improve human being's mental health, as maintaining a decent physical health could effectively reduce anyone's stress and pressure from his or her day-to-day life. Those college students who are also working adults are able to take good care of their own body and stay out of a pressure-cooking life by exercising on a regular basis. That is one important aspect of continued education as we are discussing in this research project. In order to increase the volume of physical activity for college students, the physical education program at every college and university plays a very significant role. This research project, in alignment with the policies set forth by the Ministry of Education, is aimed to examine and analyze those working adult students' physical activities resulted from those physical education programs in their continued education. Through observing and recording the physical activities in which the working adult student were engaged during their classes, the following findings have been concluded: 1. The percentage of the moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) in which male working adult students at Technology Colleges were engaged in accounted for 57% of their total class time. Meanwhile, the percentage of MVPA in which female working adult students at Technology Colleges were engaged in accounted for 47% of their total class time. Both percentages are not far off a standard rate, 50%, recommended by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. 2. It presents a distinctive difference between male and female working adult students on MVPA in their respective physical education classes. 3. There is no distinctive difference between male working adult students and male non-working-adults students on the time they spent on physical activity in their physical education classes. 4. There is no distinctive difference between female working adult students and female non-working-adults students on the MRPA values in their physical education classes.
