The purpose of this research was to study the influence of living style which gives priority to physical exercise on the blood biochemical value of the middle-aged people and old people so as to offer reference for national policy concerning to elder welfare program. There were total 365 person investigated; in which, 240 person were 40-64 years old; 125 person were 65-89 years old. The items investigated were: body height, body weight, blood pressure, blood biochemical inspection (total protein ”TP”, albumin ”ALB”, glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase ”GOT”, glutamate pyruvate transaminase ”GPT”, total cholesterol ”TC”, triglyceride ”TG”, uric acid ”UA”, blood urea nitrogen ”BUN”, cratinine ”CRE”, and glucose ”GLU”). Independent sample t-test statistic analysis was made by software SPSS 10.0 according to age, gender, testing items and physical exercise types; then compare the data in each group to see whether there is significant difference. The P value less than .05 means there is significant difference. GLU and TG value of the people who have physical exercise often was significantly than lower people who seldom have physical exercise. The difference of biochemical value as follows: for the people older than 65 years, the GLU and TG value of the people who have physical exercise often was significant lower; whereas for the people between 40 and 64 years old, the TG and BUN value was significant lower and have significant difference. This research found that, for the middle-aged people and old people in Tainan, metabolic syndrome can be reduced by physical exercise.
