《臺灣開元寺誌略稿‧歷代住職》待補錄的世代缺空

The Pending Information on the Some of the Ancestor Masters in the Draft-"An Overview to the Abbots in History of Ka Yuan Monastery, Taiwan"

摘要


臺南開元寺自志中禪師開山開始,傳承迄今約三百餘年。今日欲探討該寺法脈傳承史時,卻常面臨因政權更異、社會事件、時間長遠、人為過失等等諸多因素所造成的文獻軼失,並且在考證上形成了各種的困難。日治昭和初期,其寺書記鄭卓雲輯著《臺灣開元寺誌略稿》手稿一部,為目前研究該寺歷史的重要文獻。但在其記錄的文字內容中,亦多處可見因文獻遺缺所造成的敘述不清或待補缺空。本文就鄭卓雲手稿〈歷代住職〉篇中遺缺之世代問題,做初步的探討與推論。因文內所探討開元寺之相關人物具已亡矣,一切論述條件都是在現有相關的文獻和文物基礎上,進行推論與審視該寺之法脈傳承與當代部分的歷史事件。

It has been more than 300 years since Zen master Zhi Zhong founded the Ka Yuan Monastery in southern Taiwan. While attempting to reconstruct the complete picture of the heritage of the monastery, numerous obstacles were encountered including the transfer of political powers, social turmoil, the remoteness of the time and human errors. These impediments led to the incomplete written records and difficulties in accomplishing the work. During the early phase of Japanese Showa era, the ”History of Ka Yuan Monastery in Taiwan in the draft:” drafted by Zhuo Yu Zheng became one important piece of literature in the arena of studying the history of the monastery. However, there are a lot of incomplete or missing details which require clarification and further supplements. This article aims to provide an analytical study on one of the chapters-”The Abbots in History” written by Zhuo Yu Zheng especially in the area of ancestors and successors information. This article is considered a preliminary discussion mainly due to the passing away of most of the people being researched on. All the analysis and discussion is based on the existing literature, with the purpose of achieving a deeper understanding of the heritage and historical events of the monastery.
