The loquat gray spot disease caused by Pestalotia eriobtryicola in Taiwan. The pathogens could isolated from diseased leaves, bud, stem, flower and fruit. The optimum temperature for pathogen germination and hyphal growth was found to be 20-28℃. The occurrence of gray spot in loquat was found to be most serious during the period of June to October in Taiwan. This disease could be controlled by spraying chlorothalonil and carbendazim-mepronil.
