An Outlook for Waste Heat Recovery Concept for Aircraft Engine Using Organic Rankine Cycle

摘要

Aircraft engine has been evolving along with the economy and technologies and becoming more powerful. However, the emission produced by aircrafts creates a significant environmental concern especially concerning climate change and global warming. In this study, the thermal system of an Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system with different heat exchanger design configuration is modeled and analyzed. The purpose of this is to achieve a higher thermal efficiency and power output of ORC that can be mounted on aircraft engine in order to be able to recuperate waste heat from exhaust engine and re-used it to generate useful power to the aircraft. The working fluid chosen in this study is R245fa.
