An overview of basic concepts of mechanics, which were a source of several scientific directions, is presented. Relation between dynamic (functional) and lifetime properties of mechanical systems is displayed as well as expediency of their common consideration within a single integrated direction "Lifetime mechanics of machines". Features of creating mathematical models for multibody systems on their transitional modes with changing the system states are examined. The concept of regular mechanical system and the rules of a schematization grounded on it as well as approach for making the dynamics equations are presented. Properties of the computer as discrete computational device are taking into account. For dynamic computation the all-purpose set of equations is developed, which engages the differential, algebraic and logical equations and procedures of checking states for frictional devices and directions of power flows for devices-gears. Contribution of transitional modes and actions of a vehicle driver to reliability of mobile machine parts is demonstrated.
