Theoretical Analysis of Dynamical Responses of a Spur Gear System with Backlash

並列摘要

Time-varying stiffness and backlash are two main factors to cause the spur gear system to produce nonlinear dynamic resonances. In this paper, the time-varying gear mesh stiffness is expanded with a limited Fourier series expression, and the mesh backlash is represented with polynomial function. The multiple scales method is applied to investigate the non-linear dynamic responses of the spur gear system at the harmonic resonance points. The study shows that the amplitudes of dynamic responses at all kinds of harmonic resonance points are independent of the steady-state excitation but in decline with the depression of internal and external excitations, and that the reduction of steady-state excitation makes no contribution to reduce the peak value of the resonances except the case of sub-harmonic. Moreover, the influences of steady-state excitation, internal excitation, external excitation, and damping of the system on the amplitudes of various harmonic resonances are investigated.
