Teaching is the core work of higher education, in which teaching method is an important approach to achieve educational objectives and quality assurance. The traditional Chinese teaching methods focus too much on lecturing for knowledge accumulation; students thus become passive and in lack of creative thinking and reflective ability. This paper reports an experimental teaching method, called 3-up model, in which students are required to come up with questions, speak up with intuitions, and write up with evidences. Specifically, we design a mechanism which can demonstrate whether students are learning what they are supposed to learn in management courses. This article also illustrates a recent implementation of the 3-up teaching method in a doctoral course "Advanced Management Theory" at National Sun Yat-sen University.
