摘要

「剪桐封弟」是一個關於西周成王分封的故事。文獻中存在封晉與封應兩個版本。封晉版在後世十分流行，封應版則鮮為人知。封應版始見於《韓詩外傳》，或可能出於荀子之說。封晉版始見於《呂氏春秋》。「剪桐封弟」故事的原生地域可能與應國相關，封晉版的出現，則是與春秋早中期之際晉南、晉東南區域政治快速發展的歷史進程相關。

＂He used a cut leaf to enfeoff his younger brother＂ is a legend about King Cheng of Zhou (11 th century BCE). Two versions of the story are found in the literature. They differ on the domain with which the young king enfeoffs his brother; in one version it is Jin and in the other Ying. The former version became extremely popular over time while the latter largely disappeared from circulation. The Ying version may have appeared first in the Hanshi waizhuan, a concordance to the Book of Odes, or it may have been first recorded by Xunzi. The Jin version stems from the Spring and Autumn Annals. The story probably originated in the Ying region, while the subsequent popularity of the Jin version owes more to the rapid development of the Jin region in the early to mid Spring and Autumn period.
