中學微型木材乾餾有機化學實驗之設計研究

A Micro-scale Design by Dry Distillation of Wood for High School in Organic Laboratory

摘要


本文利用價格低廉的材料,來設計一套既快速又安全且能適合於中學的有機化學實驗—有趣的「低值微型有機化學實驗裝置(微型木材乾餾)」。此套微型實驗裝置在製作、攜帶或操作等各方面,對教師與學生來講都非常方便。同時此裝置所使用的木材也極少量,僅用兩三支牙籤或使用過之火柴棒,在短短一分鐘之內便可完成木材乾餾實驗,效果非常顯著,實為一套省資源、低污染並兼具有教育意義與環保理念的綠色化學,由於極具安全性與趣味性,頗能引起學生實驗興趣,實值得在即將實施的九年一貫「自然與生活科技」課程來推廣。

A safe, rapid, economical and interesting micro-scale apparatus of dry wood distillation was designed for junior or senior high school in organic laboratory. The new apparatus simply consists of a lighter, alcohol lamp, matchstick, toothpick, iron wire and some other small low-cost materials. Based on this apparatus, the dry wood distillation can be carried out within one minute and only two or three pieces of matchstick or toothpick were consumed. Meanwhile the flammable gases together with wood tar produced can be observed by ignition. Due to low pollution and safety, our micro-scale apparatus of dry wood distillation is a good example of green chemistry, and is valuable for nature and life science laboratory courses for the coming nine-year sequence curriculum.
